Top 5 Repro Vintage Necklaces Made in the UK - By Clumsy Kate

If you follow my Instagram you will know how much I love statement jewellery and novelty prints. I also love to wear Rockabilly and Vintage Reproduction jewellery, made in the UK by small independent businesses.

I've put together my Top 5 Repro Vintage Necklaces and what I would wear with them. I am always on a tight budget when it comes to buying new clothes each season. So I try to concentrate on a couple of key pieces of jewellery to refresh my outfits. Its a cheap and easy way to update a tired old wardrobe.

Rock Lobster Necklace

As soon as I saw this Luxulite lobster necklace I knew I had to have it. Katy is one of my favorite jewellery designers, and I am constantly adding her items to my Etsy wishlist.

This is a really bold piece and so far I have worn it with plain tops only, so the necklace really speaks for itself. Obviously it's still winter here but when the sun comes out I would love to pair it with these Miss L Fire sandals...

and this NEW Clumsy Kate Under The Sea print sunglasses case...

Tiki Bamboo Necklace

Another one of my favorite Repro jewellery brands is Bow and Crossbones. I have a couple of her necklaces but my current favorite is definatly this 1950S fruit and bamboo necklace set...

It has a really authentic vintage look without the price tag associated with a genuine 1950s piece. I've been accessorizing this necklace with a peach pineapple print hair tie from my own collection.

This necklace also comes with adorable bamboo earrings to match. Perfect for the pool party at Viva Las Vegas.

Dancing Skeletons Necklace

This skeleton necklace is a bit different, and I love to wear it when i'm feeling in touch with my inner goth.

It's dark and moody but also with a sense of humor. I bought this from the fabulous Razorblade Mermaid and it is made from vintage skeleton charms. You can also purchase earrings to match. Once again because of the size of this piece I only wear it with plain tops, and it looks great with this Topshop beaded spiderweb jumper I purchased on Ebay, and a Clumsy Kate cat brooch.

Playful Pooches Necklace

This is fast becoming one of my favorite necklaces for day to day wear. From my own collection, this is a smaller scale necklace, but still an eye catching conversation piece.

This cute sausage dog necklace looks great with a fluffy pastel jumper for that 1960s sweater girl look. There are lots of jumpers like this available on the high street at the moment. Top of my want list is this mint fluffy jumper from Select, which was bought to my attention by the lovely Atomic Amber.

Jumbo Pineapple Necklace

If, like me you love pineapples, you will adore this jumbo pineapple necklace by Dolly Cool.

She has lots of statement necklaces in her collection, all at very affordable prices, and once again hand made by a small independent business. I love to pair this necklace with my Tropicana Pineapple print skirt from my own collection.

It's as if they were made to be worn together!

I hope you have enjoyed this selection of necklaces. What are your favorite statement necklaces or Repro Jewellery brands? I'd love to hear your recommendations. xxx

New 50s style Kiss Lock Purses

For the last couple of months i've been developing a few new products to add into my range. This always seems to take me longer than anticipated as I've become a bit of a perfectionist, and want to bring you only the best and most quality products!

It took a bit of experimenting but now I have perfected the design and making technique, i'm pleased to present my new range of kiss-lock purses...

As with all of my products, the kiss lock purses feature exclusive prints designed by me, Clumsy Kate. They are also handmade by me, using quality materials.
I've gone for a larger size than many coin purses available, so that you can fit your cards and notes in their easily as well. But at 15cm x 13cm they will still fit easily in your bag.

I've started the range with some of my most popular prints, but if you love the idea of a purse like this but you prefer one of my other prints, just drop me a line at kate@clumsykate.com to request a custom order for no extra charge.

All these purses can be purchased for £18 each plus p&p from my Etsy shop. Look out for lots more new products coming soon!

Mid Century Market - London - April 12th

Just before Christmas I had a stall at a fantastic new event in Hammersmith in London. And now it's time for round two!

I'll be having a stall at The Mid Century Market on the 12th of April from 10.30am till 4pm, at the Hammersmith Club on Rutland Grove. I've got lots of new and never been seen before products to take to the show, here's a picture of how my stall looked at the Christmas Edition:
The Hammersmith Club is just a short walk from Hammersmith tube, and once you're there you will have all sorts of lovely Mid Century inspired and Vintage stalls to peruse, yummy cake to eat and endless cups of tea in vintage china.

There will be clothes, homewares, records and even a barber for the gents and hair and make up for the ladies.

The event is run by the wonderful Bettina Scarlett, who really is very good at putting on a fabulous do! There will be DJ's and pin up girls, and oh...did i mention the cake? And all for only £3 entry fee. You can find out more about the event by following Bettina on Facebook, twitter or Instagram (see the links below).

Fabulous Finds... Molly & Pearl Vintage Jewellery and Accessories

For February and March I will be bringing something a little bit special to my blog! Through running Clumsy I have met some really talented small business owners, who have a broad and exciting rang of products to rival any high street offering. So…I have decided to write about some of those small businesses, here on my blog.

First up are Molly & Pearl, Vintage Jewellery and Accessories. Molly & Pearl are passionate about sourcing the best vintage and antique jewellery, searching antique centers, fairs, shops, markets and auctions in order to find the highest quality vintage products. Which sounds like a lot of fun to me! Their products range from 1930's snakeskin bags, 1950's brooches and necklaces, to scarves and more contemporary jewellery.

I’m impressed by the broad selection on offer, with something for everybody; dainty floral brooches, bold Native American style necklaces, and gorgeous 50s style fruit charms. I’ve picked out my favorites from their collection, which I think would really complete any classic 50s outfit.

I love this striking green Lucite necklace; it’s just the right amount of chic, whilst still being a little bit daring. It’s such a gorgeous green colour!

If the Lucite is a little bit too bold for you, why not try this pretty Red Berry Necklace, with an explosion of adorable berries, and leaf charms.

I am a sucker for anything sparkly, and I simply adore this deep blue vintage evening bag. It would make the perfect accessory for a wedding or special occasion, or even add a spot of glam to a plain dress for a night out.

There is a lot more to see at Molly & Pearl, with new items being added all the time, so it’s defiantly worth following their social network pages for news of any new products…
